Parent/Family Travel: We hope that parents are planning to take their dancers If this is impossible for you, we will help arrange team travel or rides with other dancers. You are welcome to stay with family and friends in the area, arrange your own lodging, or book in the team hotel. Hotels: This is the hold up on this message. We have been working with the area hotels, but there is a large event in Salt Lake (NBA Allstar something) which has overflowed into these hotels. We secured a group reservation for our staff and the van groups, but no hotel had a large number of rooms available. So we have small blocks reserved at these hotels. You may find lower rates online. So, please self book your hotels. I am so sorry to those of you who asked about this and I told you we were getting one big group block. We have been working on it since early January. The van group will be staying in the Layton TownPlace Suites. We have some rooms blocked at these Layton hotels at these rates: You can call and reserve rooms in your own names in the IBA block, the deadline to reserve is Sunday Feb 12. Of course you are welcome to book at any other area hotel. Hampton Inn: 3 Doubles. $149. 801-775-8800. Holiday Inn Express: 4 Doubles, 10 Kings. $149. (801) 773-3773 Courtyard by Marriott: 20 mix of Doubles and Kings. $179. (801) 217-2300 b. Team Travel: In past years we have arranged a bus and team hotel stay. Since the event is now two days, the Junior dancers do not need to stay overnight on Friday. Chaperones/Drivers: We will need drivers for the Junior vans, and drivers/chaperones for the Senior team vans and hotel. Please reply to this message or text me if you are willing to be a driver and/or chaperone. We would cover the entry fee to the competition and meals. Juniors: rented vans travel to and from the competition on Friday. Cost: $20/dancer (doesn’t include meals) Seniors: rented vans leaving Friday afternoon, hotel stay, returning late Saturday night. This is how they can be low-cost and IBA friendly! We are so grateful to everyone who pitches in to help! 1. Set Up Help Thursday evening: SMALL ARMY NEEDED!! If any Junior dancers and families are available to help Thursday night, we could easily use 10-15 people! We have to set up the dance floor, and hundreds of feet of pipe and drape. The more hands we have, the more quickly it will go. We would be so grateful for your help! 2. Check-in Tables: Ticket sales, competitor check-in, number hand out. LOTS of help needed here! 3. Medical on-call: If you have medical training and are willing to be on-call during the sessions that you are there as a spectator. 4. Meal Host (Paid position): (not on sign up sheet) Text me or reply to this message if you are willing/interested in doing this. We can split it to two people to work together or to each do one day. a. Oversee/Order meals for officials & staff - lunch/dinner on both Friday and Saturday.
